Purifeyes 100ml

Purifeyes 100ml

Purifeyes™ has been developed with leading ophthalmologists to provide professional levels of eye and periocular hygiene and reduce microbial overgrowth and inflammation that leads to long term dry eye symptoms.

Purifeyes™ is a revolutionary pH-balanced cleanser and antimicrobial that represents a step-change in periocular hygiene. It has been developed in conjunction with and endorsed by leading ophthalmologists and eye care professionals.

Purifeyes™ is very different from traditional antiseptics and cleansers which are toxic to the ocular surface. By using an oxidising method of action which is not only more effective but also non-cytotoxic, it causes no harm to human skin, eyelashes or the eye surface even with extensive use, and complies with all relevant European Standards.

Key Benefits:

  • Effective cleanser & antimicrobial solution
  • Eyelid skin & eye surface compatible pH
  • Non-irritant
  • Alcohol free
  • Contact lens compatible

Supportive

In addition to professional use in clinic, Purifeyes is safe and easy to use at home. It enables patients to maintain optimal levels of periocular and eyelid hygiene following a procedure to aid recovery, and as part of a daily eye care and periocular skin care regime. Whether in clinic or at home, Purifeyes’ advanced hypochlorous technology helps to reduce inflammation and scarring. It contains no harsh chemicals, so it can be used safely on sensitive eyes and skin.

Powerful

Rapid oxidising action provides superior levels of microbial control – Purifeyes surpasses the requirements of EN1040, EN1276, and EN14476. Purifeyes delivers broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against transmissible respiratory contamination and eyelash and eyelid organisms responsible for lid margin inflammation and dry eyes. Purifeyes is not subject to antimicrobial resistance because of its oxidising method of action.

Compatible

Purifieyes is clinically formulated to have a low concentration but highly effective, reviewed and endorsed by leading ophthalmologists and oculoplastic surgeons. It has the same pH as the ocular surface (7.0-7.3) and is safe and well-tolerated by the mucous membranes of the conjunctiva. It does not irritate, sensitise or leave any chemical burden and is non-toxic to the eye and cornea. Purifeyes is used to provide cleaning and pre-treatment antimicrobial protection for eyes, eyelids and periocular skin.

The Science

Purifeyes is created in a unique process which converts sodium hypochlorite into a more effective and safe hypochlorous chemistry.

This same chemistry is employed by the human immune system and is produced naturally by white blood cells in the body to defend against attacking microorganisms. Purifeyes hypochlorous chemistry is very different from traditional skin antiseptics and cleaners which use a toxic method of action and are also toxic and damaging to the ocular surface. Purifeyes uses an oxidising method of action which is more effective but is also non-cytotoxic: it causes no harm to human skin, eyelashes or the eye surface.

Why do we need a periocular cleanser?

Whilst traditional antiseptics and cleansers provide effective cleaning they come with significant draw backs for the delicate periocular area and eyes:

Once applied, Clinisept+ Procedure Aftercare leaves no residue on the skin and can be left to dry naturally. Do not dry or touch the skin after application unless with clean hands or a gauze. Clinisept+ Procedure Aftercare should be applied 2-3 times a day, or as necessary, to keep the skin cleansed and calm. It is not intended or suitable for use as a make-up remover.

  • Isopropyl alcohol can cause severe ocular burns and is flammable(2)
  • Povidone iodine stings and can stain the ocular surface, lashes, contact lenses and clothes, and should be avoided in pregnancy
  • Chlorhexidine stings, is toxic to the cornea, and is associated with increasing allergy & anaphylaxis
  • Chlorhexidine and alcohol are also subject to antimicrobial resistance
